~  Château du Faure Haut Normand is located in Saillans and specializes in the Fronsac appellation. With the ambition to produce a modern yet classic Bordeaux wine, our small but beautifully formed vineyard is the epitome of the new wave of Fronsac vineyards dedicated to delivering wines that honor the traditions of the "Tuscany of Bordeaux".  ~

The Merlot vines of Château du Faure Haut Normand are on a gentle slope, looking down on Pomerol and St Emilion. This magnificent setting frames an estate whose wines were once amongst the greatest of the region.

The vines are managed day-to-day by Eric Soulas; an artisan with 30 plus years experience and who has a real feel for “his” vines. From pruning them throughout the year to manual harvesting across the 4 small plots down to the use of the smallest crates possible to minimise bruising, these are vines that are treated like the pedigrees they are. The superb flavours are also credit to the contributions of world-famous oenologists, with Château du Faure Haut Normand being Dany and Michel Rolland made wine.

A “quality comes first and last” approach from the very first buds to the start of the vinification process, to barrel stock never more than one year old, Château du Faure Haut Normand is beginning to rise from the ashes and will once again become a marker for great Fronsac wines.
Château Du Faure Haut Normand is made of 100% Merlot. It has a rounded and opulent bouquet with a cedar and black cherry nose. This wine is quite modern in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and good acidity.

Our suggestion is to serve Château Du Faure Haut Normand wines at 18°C (64°F) and to let the wine breathe
for at least 60 minutes
before enjoying. Our wine is best enjoyed with charcuterie starters, red meats and sharp cheeses.

Château Du Faure Haut Normand is located in the Fronsac appellation.

The Fronsac wine area is located near the northern bank of the Dordogne river and is encircled by the Isle river, just a few kilometers west of Libourne, the town that gives the region its name. Saint-Émilion and Pomerol are located to the east of the town.
The vineyard’s terroir creates a natural drainage system; this coupled with the perfect exposure to the sun produces perfect ripening conditions for our grape varieties. Our plantings are made up of 100% Merlot.

Fronsac is considered one of the most important wine regions in France due to it's diverse terroirs, which are also known for their great climate and microclimates, as well as their extensive vineyards. Fronsac undeniably being one of Bordeaux’s most beautiful wine regions, with its green valleys, fairytale castles, panoramic views over vine-covered hills of its beautiful rivers.
